Thinking Positive - Positive Thinking

Thinking positive is much more than just having a predominant positive attitude, and it's definitely much more than just repeating a few positive words, or telling yourself that everything is going to be all right. Positive thoughts are just a better choice than negative thoughts. Negative thoughts create unhappy moods and influence destructive behavior that can waste time and energy. Seeking happiness and understanding is much more productive. And remember, positive thinking and being grateful does not replace learning or problem solving, they all work together side by side.

The energy of the mind is the essence of life. Embracing positive energy and fostering positive energy is a lot more beneficial then giving into negative energy that will block your positive energy. Use mindfulness to harness your energy. Tune into your energy and open new pathways for your energy to flow. Keep your energy aligned with your goals and your principles. You can generate joy and positive energy without any external influences. You have the power.

Focus on good thoughts and productive thinking throughout your day, this will help you to avoid ruminations, stress and anxiety.

Optimism is expecting the best possible outcome from any given situation. Optimism is being positive and avoiding being negative. Optimism is not about being cocky or about living in a fantasy. Optimism is looking on the bright side of things and not dwelling on the difficulties. Realist - Things are Relative.

Having too much confidence can be problematic. You definitely don't want to sugar coat something or gloss over anything. And just reducing negative emotions does not always mean that positive emotions will arise that are effective or productive. Positive Illusions - Bliss.

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living, or "the scientific study of positive human functioning and flourishing on multiple levels that include the biological, personal, relational, institutional, cultural, and global dimensions of life". Positive psychology is concerned with eudaimonia, "the good life", reflection about what holds the greatest value in life – the factors that contribute the most to a well-lived and fulfilling life. PS uses scientific understanding and effective intervention to aid in the achievement of a satisfactory life, rather than treating mental illness. The focus of positive psychology is on personal growth rather than on pathology, as is common among other frameworks within the field of psychology. Positive psychology is to step away from the pathological thoughts that may arise in a hopeless mindset, and to instead, maintain a sense of optimism that allows for people to understand what makes life worth living. Practice self-care and do things you enjoy. Focus on things that make you feel good about yourself and your life. (Optimal Behaviorist).

Law of Attraction is the belief that positive thoughts bring positive experiences into a person's life and negative thoughts give rise to negative experiences. The belief is based on the ideas that people and their thoughts are made from pure energy, and that a process of like energy attracting like energy exists through which a person can improve their health, wealth, and personal relationships. Even though there is little scientific evidence supporting the law of attraction, advocates generally combine cognitive reframing techniques with affirmations and creative visualization to replace self-destructive negative thoughts with more empowered, adaptive positive thoughts. A key component of the philosophy is the idea that in order to effectively change one's negative thinking patterns, one must also feel through creative visualization that the desired changes have already occurred. This combination of positive thought and positive emotion is believed to allow one to attract positive experiences and opportunities by achieving resonance with the proposed energetic law.

Laws of Nature - Structured Water - Love Thyself - Thoughts Manifest Themselves - Placebos - Being Grounded

Law of Attraction is a phrase used to describe the perceived nature of bodies that have a tendency to attract or repel each other. Historically, the concept of there being a known set of the laws of attraction evolved from the laws of affinity, which numbered up to ten depending upon which chemist was sourced.

Law of Vibration states that everything in the universe is in a constant state of movement. We refer to these movements as vibration, and the speed or rate at which something vibrates is called its frequency. The only difference between one object and another is the rate of its vibration.

Sugar Coat is to talk about something vaguely or to describe something in a way that makes something seem more pleasant or more acceptable than it really is, or to make something superficially attractive or more acceptable, or make something excessively sentimental more than it really is.

Gloss Over is to try to conceal something or to disguise something unfavorable by treating it briefly or by representing it misleadingly. To avoid considering something, such as an embarrassing mistake, in order to make something seem not important, or to make something seem unimportant by ignoring it or by dealing with it very quickly. To treat something with less care than it deserves.

Positive thinking is knowing that you have options and abilities that can be used in a positive way, thus creating more positive things to think about.

With thinking positive, you get power in two ways. The first way you get power is when you release negative energy. The second way you get power is by gaining positive energy. So your energy is not just about thinking positive, it's also releasing negativity that was draining you down. And once that is done, you can now use positive energy to increase your power.

It's always Darkest before the Dawn is a phrase that means that things always seem the worst right before they improve. The worst part of an experience or period usually happens just before things get better. Even in the worst of circumstances there is hope. The first person to use this proverb was Thomas Fuller, an English theologian, in the year 1650. Dawneth is an archaic third-person singular simple present indicative form of dawn. Imagine not having a worry in the world and being truly happy. Imagine being free to explore life and being free to enjoy life without feeling any guilt or stress. You should imagine this a few times a day, even if its just for a moment. Our imagination is not just about escaping reality, it's more about temporally reshaping our reality to remind us of the possibilities.

Imagine that you're eating something good that will make you feel feel better. This is called the placebo effect. But you don't have to take a real pill, you can just imagine that you are. This is why loving yourself is so beneficial, because you never have to wait for love or depend on someone else to show you love. You can feel loved anytime and anywhere.

Learned Optimism is done by consciously challenging any negative self talk. Differences exist between pessimists and optimists in terms of explanatory style: Permanence: Optimistic people believe bad events to be more temporary than permanent and bounce back quickly from failure, whereas others may take longer periods to recover or may never recover. They also believe good things happen for reasons that are permanent, rather than seeing the transient nature of positive events. Optimists point to specific temporary causes for negative events; pessimists point to permanent causes. Pervasiveness: Optimistic people compartmentalize helplessness, whereas pessimistic people assume that failure in one area of life means failure in life as a whole. Optimistic people also allow good events to brighten every area of their lives rather than just the particular area in which the event occurred. Personalization: Optimists blame bad events on causes outside of themselves, whereas pessimists blame themselves for events that occur. Optimists are therefore generally more confident. Optimists also quickly internalize positive events while pessimists externalize them.

Vibrant is someone who is enthusiastic and full of energy and personality. A vibrant color is a color that is bright and striking.

Appreciating the good things does not mean that you should ignore the bad things. Looking on the bright side does not mean that you should ignore the dark side. To truly enjoy what is good, you have to be responsible for what is bad. You need to maintain balance if you want balance. To selfishly enjoy what is good and to pretend that nothing is bad, will force others to suffer from your delusion, including yourself, because you are also the other and not just thyself.

You should feel enthusiastic and be happy about life everyday. Everyone has challenges and responsibilities to attend to everyday, and we should do them without having to let go of our joy for life. Protect that joy and make that joy a priority. Make happiness strong and resilient. Stress, anger, aggravation or assumptions has no place in your heart or your head. Use logic and intelligence as your allies in your fight against corrupt and ignorant individuals. Face the bullshit with a smile, there's no time to waste on hate or anger, solve problems methodically. No one has the right to steal your joy, and you should never grant this right to no one, not even yourself. Stand strong, stand proud and stand by your joy. Joy is your best friend. Joy needs you. Never abandon your friend and never forget your friend, and make sure that you visit your friend several times a day and see your joy smile and laugh, that joy is you, that joy is your future. You can still be joyful about your life every single day and still be responsible for yourself and be responsible for everyone around you, including being responsible for the environment that we all share and will pass on to future generations. Joyful awareness, joyful intelligence, joyful goals, joyfully strong willed, joyfully professional and joyfully responsible. Don't stop being excited about life. Excitement is one of the most important things that you can preserve from your childhood. Don't let the wonder die.

Positive experiences in close relationships are associated with better physical health, new research suggests. Social relationships influence physical health, but questions remain about the nature of this connection. New research suggests that the way you feel about your close relationships may be affecting the way your body functions. Grateful - Appreciation.

Take a moment to identify one positive event each day. Tell someone about the positive event or share it. Start a daily gratitude journal. Aim to find little things you're grateful for. Identify a personal strength and reflect on how you've used this strength today or in recent weeks. Set a daily goal and track your progress. Try to practice "positive reappraisal": Identify an event or daily activity that is a hassle. Then, try to reframe the event in a more positive light. Do something nice for someone else each day. Practice mindfulness by paying attention to the present moment. You can also try a 10-minute breathing exercise that uses a focus on breathing to help calm the mind. Positive outlook predicts less memory decline.

New outlook on life is when you realize that your attitude towards life was not helping you or solving any problems. A new outlook on life is when you make positive changes in the way that you think about life and in the way that you react to life. You will start to see things as being more hopeful instead of seeing things as a waste of time and not worth the effort.

Being Positive is not supposed to be about lying to yourself or about lying to other people. Over confidence can create vulnerabilities.

It takes more then self love to treat yourself better. There's a lot of learning to be done. You need to acquire valuable knowledge and information, which takes time and a lot of work, but the rewards are incredible, that's where the Love is. I feel more positive energy now then ever before, mostly because I can now activate positive energy, thus releasing unneeded negative energy from my mind and the body. I'm not saying that I am always happy, it's just that I'm hardly ever sad or depressed. The positive state is the body and the minds natural state, it is the perfect balance of Positive Charge and Negative Charge. So energy flows more freely. Once you learn to control positive energy, it will be with you forever.

Self-Enhancement is a type of motivation that works to make people feel good about themselves and to maintain self-esteem.

"Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you." – Walt Whitman. Face the sun, and let the shadows fall where they may. Don't let the fear of darkness or fear of the unknown keep you from seeing the light.

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Winston Churchill (wiki).

"The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails." William Arthur Ward.

Two Sides to a Coin - Two Sides to Every Story

If you only hear one side of a story, then you can be blind to the truth. If you can't see the whole picture, then you can't fully understand the message. If someone controls the narrative, then they can control the reality that is presented before you. There is always another side to everything. Don't except things at face value, unmask the deceit and learn the truth.

On the Other Hand is saying that there are other factors that are different or contradictory when compared to the other hand or to the other opinion.

There's more to the story means that some parts of the story have been left out, making the story vague and incomplete, which leads to misinterpretations and misunderstandings.

Multifaceted is something having many facets. A facet is one side of something that has several sides, especially of a cut gem. A facet is a distinct feature or element in a problem or a particular aspect or feature of something. A facet is also any of the individual units or ommatidia that make up the compound eye of an insect or crustacean. The brain forms an image from these independent picture elements.

Version is an account of a matter from a particular person's point of view. An interpretation of a matter from a particular viewpoint. A mental representation of the meaning or significance of something. Something a little different from others of the same type. A particular form of something differing in certain respects from an earlier form or other forms of the same type of thing.

Pandora's Box is an idiom for a present which seems valuable but which in reality is a curse. Any source of great and unexpected troubles. Paradox.

Blessing and a Curse is something that is both a benefit and a burden, or that may seem initially beneficial but also brings unforeseen negative consequences. Everything is Relative.

Blursed is a combination word for something being blessed and cursed at the same time. Used to describe something that is a both delightful but also disgusting, depending how you look at it. Something that has both very good and very bad points. A benefit that is also a liability, or a benefit that carries some significant but not-so-obvious cost or risk.

Bittersweet is something pleasant but also sad. An emotional feeling that has a mixture of both happy and sad elements. An experience that may be pleasurable in one sense but can also cause pain, discomfort, suffering or regret in another sense. A combination of both bitter and sweet.

"There are always two sides to every story. Make sure you listen to both sides and seek out the truth because you might become part of the deceitful circus and end up being the fool."

Blessing in Disguise is when a misfortune turns out to have some important benefits.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining means that there is usually a good aspect to almost every bad event. - A cloud may block the sun, but a cloud can also give you clean drinking water from the rain that falls from the clouds. And remember, the sun shines even on cloudy days. Let us not miss an opportunity to advance because we are only seeing the bad that came from our mistakes. We did not survive for millions of years by being negative. We survived by making the most of the positives. Two Faced.

Silver Lining is a metaphor for optimism in the common English-language which means a negative occurrence may have a positive aspect to it.

Brightside is a feeling of comfort and a relief that you get when you look at the positive elements of a difficult situation.

Upside is the positive or favorable aspect of something when you compared the bad things to the good things.

Downside the negative aspect of something otherwise regarded as good or desirable.

Dark Side are the parts of a person, group or activity that are unpleasant, evil, or harmful.

"Everyone is a moon, they can have a dark side which they never show to anyone.”

Good or Bad, Hard to Say. There's an ancient parable about a farmer who lost his horse. And neighbors came over to say, "Oh, that's too bad." And the farmer said, "Good or bad, hard to say." Days later, the horse returns and brings with it seven wild horses. And neighbors come over to say, "Oh, that's so good!" And the farmer just shrugs and says, "Good or bad, hard to say." The next day, the farmer's son rides one of the wild horses, is thrown off and breaks his leg. And the neighbors say, "Oh, that's terrible luck." And the farmer says, "Good or bad, hard to say." Eventually, officers come knocking on people's doors, looking for men to draft for an army, and they see the farmer's son and his leg and they pass him by. And neighbors say, "Ooh, that's great luck!" And the farmer says, "Good or bad, hard to say." It's Relative - The Truth is Debatable.

WYSWYG - What you see is not always what you get. People can have Two Sides.

The Monkey's Paw is when a person is granted three wishes, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate. So you have to be careful what you wish for. Understanding all the causes and effects of an action is rarely known, that is why good planning is so important and why understanding the odds and the possible variables is also important, especially when it comes to making good decisions. Fantasies never explain everything that could go wrong, that is why some fantasies are dangerous.

Dimorphous is representing two distinct forms.

Double-Edged Sword is a saying that means something has both significant advantages and disadvantages. It refers to something that has both good and bad, and something that can have both favorable and unfavorable consequences. It is something that has a benefit but is also a liability. A double edge sword cuts both ways. It can help cut your food into edible pieces, or, it can cut your skin and make you bleed.

There is a good side and a bad side to everything. There are pros and cons and there is also relevance. Try to look at the whole picture and see things from both ways or from both sides. Almost everything has layers and levels.

There's more than two sides to a story. There can be multiple points of view and multiple interpretations. So everything is not always black and white, because things are relative. For some people, some things only seem to have two sides, it's either black or white, good or bad, or all or nothing. Some people never realize the gray areas in between things. This type of narrow-mindedness is similar to absolutism.

There's always another side to life. But we rarely take the time to explore the other side. The only time we see the other side is when we learn something new or when we do some particular drug. I prefer learning than having to do drugs. Even when I know that knowledge is like a drug, it's my drug of choice. You can't get any higher than knowledge. I know this because I was drunk when I wrote this. But it was never about the drug, it was about the mind that processed the drug and interpreted the effects of the drug. And since the human body produces many chemicals on its own, there's never seems to be a shortage of drugs. The body effects the mind, the mind effects the body.

Of course bad things are horrible and you don't want bad things to happen, but for some strange reason, something good or beneficial can come out of something bad. The question is, could you have done something good without having something bad happen? Just because something looks bad, that doesn't mean that its all bad. And just because something looks good, that doesn't mean that its all good. Sometimes you have to learn to understand what good and bad is and if something is wrong or right. Which is one of the reasons why we have courts of law, because just having a law does not explain when the law is necessary and when the law is not necessary. Ideology - Philosophy.

Take the Good with the Bad is to understand both the negative and positive aspects of something and to acknowledge that nothing is perfect. It's best to look on the bright side of things than to ruminate about the bad side of things. Complaining only about the bad side of things will stop you from enjoying the good side of things.

Benefit Finding refers to a reported positive life change resulting from the struggle to cope with a challenging life event such as trauma, illness, or other negative experiences. The positive psychology movement has recently driven a shift toward an emphasis on the positive consequences of negative events.

Posttraumatic Growth is a positive psychological change experienced as a result of adversity and other challenges in order to rise to a higher level of functioning. These circumstances represent significant challenges to the adaptive resources of the individual, and pose significant challenges to their way of understanding the world and their place in it. Posttraumatic growth involves "life-changing" psychological shifts in thinking and relating to the world, that contribute to a personal process of change, that is deeply meaningful.

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”

"Things turn out best for people who make the best out of the way things turn out."

"You are what you think, so choose your thoughts wisely."

"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature." (Marcus Aurelius)

"If you don’t like something, then change it. If you can’t change it, then change the way you think about it."

Thinking positive is being aware of possibilities and being aware of your abilities, like your ability to solve problems.

Thought can refer to the ideas or arrangements of ideas that result from thinking, the act of producing thoughts, or the process of producing thoughts. Although thought is a fundamental human activity familiar to everyone, there is no generally accepted agreement as to what thought is or how it is created. Thoughts may or may not arise in the mind from the product of subconscious brain processing.

The Glass is Neither Half Full nor Half Empty, it is what it is, a glass with a certain amount of water.

Is the glass half empty or half full?" This question is a common expression or a proverbial phrase generally used rhetorically to indicate that a particular situation could be a cause for pessimism (half-empty) or optimism (half full), or as a general litmus test to simply determine an individual's worldview. The purpose of the question is to demonstrate that the situation may be seen in different ways depending on one's point of view and that there may be opportunity in the situation as well as trouble. Another perspective comes from psychology, where research has shown that a speaker's choice of frame can reflect their knowledge of the environment, and that listeners can be sensitive to this information. Technically it is a syntax error since changing the "or" to "and" removes the confusion and allows both conditions to exist at the same time. The question presents the two conditions of the glass as options when in reality the conditions are simultaneous and are not optional.

In life there are many things to be discourage about and many bad things to be sad about. But on the other hand, there are many nice things to be thankful for and many good things to be happy about. We have one reality, there's a good side and a bad side. The bad side is a reminder of our vulnerabilities and a reminder of the mistakes that we made. The good side helps us to stay focused on advancing and moving forward and developing in a positive way. Stay focused on your goals, and don't forget what you have learned. See the good, and don't forget the bad.

Both Sides Now - Judy Collins (youtube) - I've looked at life from both sides now, From win and lose and still somehow, It's life's illusions I recall, I really don't know life at all.

You have to maintain an equal librium. Your emotions must be centered and balanced. If you are sad about something, then you can also be happy about something. If you are stressed about something, then you can also be relaxed about something. If you are worrying about something, then you can also strategically think about something. If you are disappointed about something, then you can also appreciate something. If you can be the source of your suffering, then you can also be the source of your inspiration. If you are angry about something, then you can also effectively handle something. You can't control everything, but you can control a lot of things. But you need to exercise your control several times a day in order to remind yourself that you have power in this universe and that you are the master of your domain. This includes the ability to live in the moment, which means to take a little time each day to stop thinking about the past and to stop thinking about the future, and only listen to what is happening now, internally and externally. You must remember that there are two sides of a coin, and you have to know both sides. You have to be aware of how you feel and how you think. Don't make assumptions in your judgments. Don't overreact or jump to conclusions. Connect to your baseline and think logically.

Negativity - Negative Views - Poor Attitudes

Pessimism is worrying or ruminating too much about undesirable things that might happen. Pessimists also tend to focus on the negatives of life and complain more about things than they do planning and problem solving. Pessimists tend to see more of the evil and hardships in life than they do the good or the luxuries of life.

Catch 22 - Confidence

"Being prepared does not mean that a person needs to constantly worry or fear hardship. You need to be ready physically and mentally in order to give it your best."

Fatalism the subjugation of all events or actions to fate, causing a feeling that you're powerless to do anything.

Expect - Jumping to Conclusions

Lazy Argument is an attempt to undermine the philosophical doctrine of fatalism by demonstrating that, if everything that happens is determined by fate, it is futile to take any kind of action. Its basic form is that of a complex constructive dilemma.

Negative thoughts should be seen as just problems that you have to solve. Don't fear problem solving or feel overwhelmed. Life has responsibilities and you have to do a little work now and then in order to maintain a healthy mind and a strong and healthy body. And you also have to do a little work now and then on your environment. You have to put good into the environment in order to get the good out of the environment.

"Don't let people fill you with their negative energy. Don't let people steal your thunder. Don't let people bring you down."

Life Quotes

Note to Self: I Love You...in a Non-Narcissist way of course.

Self-Affirmation contends that if individuals reflect on values that are personally relevant to them, they are less likely to experience distress and react defensively when confronted with information that contradicts or threatens their sense of self.

Fill your Heart with Love, not obsessive love or conditional love, just love. When your heart is full of love you become more able to handle stress and conflict, more then you would be if you just had a heart filled with anger, hatred or frustration. But just the word Love cannot stand on its own or be understood completely by itself. Love is more about the accumulation of Knowledge of the self and knowledge of the world, and the wisdom that comes from it. The feeling of love can be felt by anyone, but the true power of love can only materialize and be sustainable when you are fully knowledgeable of its power and benefits. So you can easily say that love is one of the side-effects of intelligence, and that anger and Hatred are a side-effect of ignorance, an ignorance that is missing key information and knowledge.

Gratitude Journal is a diary of things for which one is grateful. Gratitude journals are used by individuals who wish to focus their attention on the positive things in their lives.

There's a lot more to Love that you should know, so Learning is Love.

Learning the processes and the mechanisms for positive change is an adventure all by itself. Build your knowledge tool box, for the more tools you have the better your chances will be of fixing those daily challenges that come your way.

Stop the Hate (forgive)

Routines - Time Management - Boredom

What if everything in your life was great and you had no worries, what would you be thinking about? What kind of thoughts would you have? What plans would you make? What kind of things would you be doing? What ideas would you come up with? What kind of things would you dream about? If you give yourself that freedom several times a day to think what ever you want, how would those thoughts compare to the other thoughts that you would normally have during the day? Then ask yourself why those thoughts are so different from each other? Which thought would be the most correct thought to have at that given moment in time? What are you really being aware of? Are these thoughts or is this thinking making any progress? Or are these thoughts just repeating themselves without you learning anything from them? You only read a passage in a book more than once when you don't understand what the passage is saying, but once you understand it you move on to the next page or the next passage. If you don't make progress with your thoughts then it's like never turning the page. If you can't understand something then bookmark that page and come back to it later when you think you figured it out.
